The ICE GENESIS project is being carried out by a consortium (led by AIRBUS OPERATION SAS) made up of 30 EU and non-EU partners from 9 countries (France, Austria, Italy, UK, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Japan).

Each ICE GENESIS partner offers the multi-disciplinary expertise which is required in order to impact the aeronautical sector and to provide the expertise needed to meet the expectations from the participants, the industry and the European Commission.

AIRBUS OPERATIONS SAS

AIRBUS OPERATIONS S.A.S is the French part of the Airbus SE European company. Airbus SE mission is to design, manufacture, and sell civil and military aeronautical products worldwide. It holds about 50% of the world market for civil aircraft with more than 100 seats.
AIRBUS OPERATIONS S.A.S is strongly involved in the design and manufacture of civil aircraft, in connection with several partners and sub-contractors. Its activities allows it to get in particular access to airline feedback, flight test data and aircraft design means. Investment in the development of research and technology is key for the future of the company and as such AIRBUS is a key player in some of the major research activity in Europe today particularly in the EC Framework Programmes.

Role in the project

AIRBUS will coordinate the ICE GENESIS project and will lead WP1 in charge of project management.
AIRBUS will provide industrial requirements for the 3D Tools that will be produced. It will also validate the ONERA 3D Tools for representative test cases of probe installation effects, using for it the already available HAIC flight test database. As an outcome of this activity, it will participate to the definition of best practices.
AIRBUS will also bring its expertise in terms of TRL maturity demonstration process. It will coordinate the definition of the appropriate criteria and follow-up the adherence to these criteria.
