The ICE GENESIS project is being carried out by a consortium (led by AIRBUS OPERATION SAS) made up of 30 EU and non-EU partners from 9 countries (France, Austria, Italy, UK, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Japan).

Each ICE GENESIS partner offers the multi-disciplinary expertise which is required in order to impact the aeronautical sector and to provide the expertise needed to meet the expectations from the participants, the industry and the European Commission.

AVIONS DE TRANSPORT REGIONAL

Founded in 1981, ATR is the world leader on the market for below-90-seat regional aircraft. Since its creation, ATR has sold over 1,500 aircraft. ATR aircraft equip the fleets of some 200 airlines in nearly 100 countries. ATR is an equal partnership between two major European aeronautics players, the Airbus Group and Leonardo. Based in Toulouse, France, ATR is well established worldwide with a large customer Support and sales network, including Customer Service Centers, training Centers and warehouses.
ATR manufactures two sizes of turboprop aircraft, the70-seat ATR72 and the 50- Seat ATR42. Both aircraft benefit from fuel, emissions and cost efficiencies provided by turboprop engines. In 2012, ATR launched its -600 Series designed to optimize further flight operations and situation awareness. ATR departments that will be working in the projects are Flight Technologies, Certification and Airworthiness, Research & Technologies.

Role in the project

ATR has an important regional market expertise on icing matter coming from having a turboprop A/C flying in a flight domain where icing conditions are significant.
In ICE GENESIS project, ATR will participate in WP3 and WP11 to specifications for improved numerical capability for liquid conditions, experimental database generation and validation of numerical capability in industrial environment.
