The ICE GENESIS project is being carried out by a consortium (led by AIRBUS OPERATION SAS) made up of 30 EU and non-EU partners from 9 countries (France, Austria, Italy, UK, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Japan).

Each ICE GENESIS partner offers the multi-disciplinary expertise which is required in order to impact the aeronautical sector and to provide the expertise needed to meet the expectations from the participants, the industry and the European Commission.

TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE FOUNDATION

Tokyo University of Science foundationwas established in 1881 and now it is one of the oldest universities in Japan. TUS has 8 undergraduate schools (engineering, science, pharmacy, management, etc.), and 11 graduate school (science, engineering, pharmacy, management, etc.).
The number of undergraduate students is about 16,000 and that of graduate students is about 3,000. The number of faculty staffs like professor is about 800. TUS team in the project consists of 3 members (1 professor, 1 associate professor and 1 assistant professor) belonging to Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Several graduate students also take part in the research project.

Role in the project

TUS will contribute to the Improvement of SLD semi-empirical models and implementation in 2D and 3D tools, and Improvement of 3D ice accretion numerical methodologies under WP9. TUS will also participate to the validation of Appendix C and Appendix O numerical capability in industrial environment (WP11).
